The Art of Purposeful Collage Workshop
The Art of Purposeful Collage Workshop
A Creative Team Building Workshop for Guided Reflection and Team Connection
The Art of Purposeful Collage is a creative team building workshop Singapore organisations use to help teams reflect, communicate, and reconnect through structured visual expression. Created by Janice Poh at Genwell and built on the 5+1 Senses Reset framework, this session uses image selection, colour, and guided composition to give participants a way to process and express what they’re carrying, without having to find the right words first. It works particularly well for teams that don’t typically engage with traditional wellness formats.
Delivered to organisations including Singapore Airlines, UOB, Deloitte, and the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Duration: 60 to 120 minutes
Group size: 10 to 60 participants
Location: On-site at your premises or at the Genwell studio, Aperia Mall, Lavender, Singapore
Facilitated by: Janice Poh, Creator of The Art of Purposeful Collage
Take-home: Every participant leaves with a completed personal collage piece
Methodology: Powered by the 5+1 Senses Reset framework (Sight-led, with Touch, Intuition, and Speech engagement)
What Participants Will Experience
- Select from curated images, textures, and words to build a visual composition that reflects their current state, priorities, or what they’ve been carrying.
- Create a personal collage piece through a guided, structured process with no artistic skill required.
- Participate in facilitated team reflection where participants share what their collage represents, building understanding and empathy across the team.
- Experience a sensory reset through hands-on creative activity that engages Sight, Touch, and Intuition, three of the six channels in the 5+1 Senses Reset
- Take home a completed personal artwork as a tangible anchor for the reflection and reset experienced during the session.
Why This Workshop Works for Teams
Why HR Teams Choose This Creative Team Building Workshop
The Art of Purposeful Collage works for corporate teams because it bypasses the usual barriers to honest team conversation. Instead of asking people to talk about how they feel, it gives them a visual medium to show it. That changes the dynamic in the room.
- Self-awareness without the spotlight – Participants reflect on what they’re carrying and express it visually, at their own pace, without being put on the spot in front of colleagues.
- Team empathy through sharing – When participants explain their collage to the group, team members consistently discover things about each other they didn’t know. Priorities, pressures, personal values. This builds understanding that carries back to the workplace.
- Sensory reset through creative activity – The hands-on process of selecting, cutting, arranging, and composing engages Sight, Touch, and Intuition. It interrupts the mental loops that drive workplace stress and gives the nervous system something different to do.
- A physical anchor – Every participant leaves with a completed artwork. Unlike a talk or a slideshow, this is something they created. It sits on their desk as a reminder of the reset they experienced and the things they chose to prioritise.
The GenWell™ Difference
How This Fits Into Genwell’s Corporate Wellness Methodology
The Art of Purposeful Collage is one of four hands-on session formats available through Genwell’s ReAlign™ Framework. While AromaGems Mist uses Smell as the primary sensory channel and Gem Canvas Art uses Touch, the Purposeful Collage session is led by Sight and Intuition.
All four formats follow the same ReAlign sequence: Reset, Awareness, Balance, and Action. The creative medium changes. The methodology stays the same. This means organisations can run different Genwell sessions across quarters or departments without repeating the same activity, while maintaining a consistent framework.
The session is facilitated by Janice Poh, who created The Art of Purposeful Collage specifically for corporate team settings. It is designed to be inclusive, non-competitive, and accessible to participants with no artistic background.
Who This Creative Team Building Workshop Is For
- HR and L&D teams planning wellness days, team development programmes, or quarterly engagement activities who want something more reflective and meaningful than a standard team bonding activity.
- People managers looking for a low-pressure way to help their teams open up about what they’re carrying, without forcing a conversation nobody wants to have.
- Teams going through change such as restructures, leadership transitions, or post-merger integration, where building mutual understanding matters more than building excitement.
- Introverted or diverse teams who may not respond well to high-energy team bonding formats. The collage process lets everyone participate at their own pace while still connecting with the group.
How the Session Works
- Pre-session: We discuss your team size, objectives, and any context that should shape the facilitation (such as recent changes, team dynamics, or specific themes you’d like the session to explore).
- Opening (10 minutes): Janice introduces the process, sets the context, and guides participants through a short sensory grounding exercise to transition out of work mode.
- Creation (30 to 45 minutes): Participants select from curated images, textures, words, and colours to compose their collage. Janice guides the process with structured prompts, but participants work at their own pace. No artistic skill is required.
- Sharing and reflection (20 to 30 minutes): Participants share what their collage represents, either in pairs, small groups, or with the full team depending on group size and comfort level. This is where the real team connection happens.
- Closing (10 minutes): Janice facilitates a group integration moment, helping the team identify common themes and practical takeaways to carry back to work.

Frequently Asked Questions
Most common asked questions by our clients
What is The Art of Purposeful Collage?
The Art of Purposeful Collage is a guided visual reflection workshop created by Janice Poh at Genwell. Participants compose a personal collage using curated images, textures, and words, then share their work with the team in a facilitated reflection session. It is part of Genwell’s 5+1 Senses Reset framework.
Do participants need artistic skills?
No. The process is guided and structured. There is no drawing, painting, or artistic technique required. Participants select and arrange pre-curated materials.
How long is the session?
Sessions run 60 to 120 minutes depending on group size and objectives.
How many people can participate?
Groups of 10 to 100 participants. For larger groups, we can run multiple concurrent sessions.
Can this be combined with other Genwell sessions?
Yes. Many organisations combine The Art of Purposeful Collage with AromaGems Mist or The Gem Canvas Art as part of a multi-session wellness programme or a full-day team retreat.
Where is the session held?
Sessions can be held at the Genwell studio at Aperia Mall, Lavender, Singapore, or on-site at your organisation’s premises.
Is this suitable for teams that don't usually do wellness activities?
Yes. This is one of the most accessible Genwell formats because it gives participants a hands-on activity rather than asking them to talk, breathe, or meditate. Teams that typically resist wellness sessions respond well to this format because it feels like making something, not doing therapy.
Can your workshops be customised to our organisation's objectives?
Yes. We frequently customise programmes around themes such as:
Employee Wellbeing
Team Bonding
Communication
Appreciation & Recognition
Leadership Development
Resilience
Workplace Culture
Organisational Values
Who facilitates the session?
Janice Poh, who created The Art of Purposeful Collage and facilitates all sessions personally together with her co-facilitators.
